The weekend's good rainfall is expected to return later this week.
The rainfall was the result of a tropical low that formed off the Queensland clost late last week. The resulting tropical cyclone pushed a steady stream of wet weather down the NSW coast.
While the Hunter's coastline was drenched, little rain fell west of Maitland.
Nobbys recorded 20.6millimetres until 9am on Sunday, Tocal 11.6 millimetres while Scone and Merriwa received no rain.
The Hunter's total water storage level stands at 66.8 per cent, up 3.2 per cent from last month but 3.4 per cent lower than the same time last year.
Grahamstown Dam is at 66 per cent capacity, Chichester Dam 100 per cent and the Tomago Sandbeds are at 60.6 per cent.
Showers are forecast for Monday while Tuesday and Wednesday will be fine.
Storms are predicted to return to the Hunter Region on Thursday and Friday.
