Grab your umbrellas! This weekend is set to be a washout as heavy rain hits the North East.
A yellow warning for rain has been issued by forecasters for Saturday and is expected to last though until Sunday.
Persistent and heavy rain is due to fall and could cause problems for people travelling by road, rail and bus.
Met Office spokesperson Graham Madge said: "We are entering a period of particularly changeable weather.
"We have a period of showers making their way through quite early in the morning.
"There will be a band of showers and some could be quite intense on Saturday morning.
"There are likely to be a couple in the afternoon ahead of a showers reaching the North East late on Saturday, early on Sunday morning.
"There is going to be heavy rain and strong winds and possibly gales on the east coast."
Temperatures over the weekend are expected to reach around 14C, Mr Madge said.
"We will be looking at temperatures of around 14C in Newcastle. It is not too cold, though it could get cooler at night with temperatures not reaching double digits," he said.
It comes after the Met Office issued a yellow warning for rain from 6pm on Saturday until 5pm on Sunday.
People are being warned homes and businesses could be flooded, spray and flooding could affect road, while train and bus services could be affected.
The rain and wind will gradually ease on Sunday, with a brighter start to Monday but there will still be some showers - before persistent rain hits again.
