LONG POND, Pa. _ Constant rain forced NASCAR to postpone Sunday's Pennsylvania 400 Sprint Cup race to Monday at Pocono Raceway.
The rain fell until about noon for what was a scheduled 1:30 p.m. start. Efforts to dry the track were interrupted about 2:30 by more showers. The forecast called for continuous rain starting around 4:30 p.m.
Weather permitting, Monday's race will begin at 11 a.m.
This is the second consecutive Sprint Cup race at Pocono that had to be pushed back a day by weather. The June race here was won by Kurt Busch on Monday.
There are no lights at Pocono Raceway, so it was a relatively easy call by NASCAR to postpone at 2:45 p.m.
There is a 90 percent chance of rain in Long Pond on Monday, a 60 percent chance of rain on Tuesday.
The race will be televised on NBC Sports Net.
