Rain forces draw in Qld v Vic Shield match

Queensland's Sheffield Shield match with Victoria in Brisbane has been washed out. (AAP)

Queensland have moved to the top of the Sheffield Shield ladder after a rain-marred clash with Victoria ended in a draw on Thursday.

Umpires abandoned play on day four without a ball being bowled at Allan Border Field, meaning just 76 overs were bowled in the match with both Wednesday and Thursday being complete washouts.

The result is enough to lift the Bulls above NSW by less than one point on the ladder with both teams having played six games for three wins, two draws and a defeat.

Victoria have now had an astonishing five draws in their six matches and sit fourth on the ladder behind Western Australia.

Marcus Harris's unbeaten 113 was the only notable achievement in the match, with the Test opener's second century of the summer taking Victoria to 7-219 at stumps on day two.

NSW will have a chance to reclaim top spot when they travel to Hobart to play Tasmania starting on Saturday.

Queensland's next match is next week against South Australia, with the game relocated to Allan Border Field and scheduled to start on Tuesday.

Victoria in their next match are away against WA at the WACA.
