The stormy weather will continue in Bangkok at least until Thursday, with downpours also forecast for some areas in the northern and northeastern regions, the Meteorological Department said on Monday.

The weather agency expected rain in 60% of Greater Bangkok on Monday, gradually decreasing through until Thursday.

Residents of Bangkok and its vicinity woke up to rain on Monday morning. The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration reported falls in almost all districts, with Bang Sue the hardest hit.

People in northern and northeastern provinces can also expect more rain, as well as the Andaman coast.

The agency also stressed that Typhoon Trami was not a factor in bringing rain across much of the country. Rain and changing weather conditions were due to the seasonal transition from the wet to the cold season, it said.
