Rain and snow causing West Of Scotland League fixtures chaos

Winter weather is causing havoc in the West Of Scotland League, with at least three Lanarkshire clubs cooling their heels this afternoon.

However, clubs are working hard to get games played today despite deluges of rain and snow in recent days.

The Conference A match between St Roch's and Bellshill Athletic has already been called off, as has Carluke Rovers' visit to Lugar Boswell Thistle in Conference B.

Thorniewood United were due to host East Kilbride Thistle in Conference C, but that has also been rained off. Newmains United v St Anthony's is also off.

Lugar Boswell Thistle reported that their game was off following a 9am pitch inspection, while Thorniewood have specifically said a waterlogged pitch is the problem there.

However, several clubs have worked hard to get games on.

The Conference C clash between Lanark and Glasgow Perthshire at Moor Park is going ahead, as are Clydebank v Rutherglen Glencairn in the Premier League, and Forth Wanderers v Johnstone Burgh, Gartcairn v Irvine Vics and Port Glasgow v Wishaw in Conference B.

There may be more games falling as the morning goes on.
