PATNA: The railways has cancelled at least four passenger trains and diverted the routes of seven others either originating from or passing through the jurisdiction of East Central Railway (ECR) due to non-interlocking (NI) work being carried out in Malda division of the Eastern Railway till April 13.
According to ECR chief public relations officer (CPRO) Birendra Kumar, Sealdah-Saharsa Hate Bazar Express (13163/13164) has been cancelled from April 9 to 12 and another passenger train (13169/13170) running between Saharsa and Sealdah from April 10 to 14.
The Delhi-Kamakhya Brahamputra Mail (15657) has been diverted to Patna-Barauni-Katihar route from April 9 to 11. On its return journey, Kamakhya-Delhi Brahmaputra Mail (15658) will be diverted to Katihar-Barauni-Patna route from April 10 to 12, while Kamakhya-Gaya Express (15619/15620) will be diverted to Katihar-Munger-Kiul route on April 11 and 12, the CPRO said.
Meanwhile, railways has handed over certificates to 87 candidates on successful completion of their skilled training programme under ‘Rail Kashaul Vikas Yojna’ at different centres falling under the ECR jurisdiction.
The East Central Railway has so far imparted training to 490 candidates under the railway skill development scheme, the chief public relations officer said.
