If you like space adventures or page turners, this book is for you!
This book is about a petty street thief, Zen Starling, who steals to survive in a Galaxy far, far away. He lives in a shabby ditch of a world called Cleve. Living with his confused mum and stern sister, Zen turns to stealing to support his family’s welfare. His only comfort is riding the great rails and experiencing the great locomotives’ power and their gentle hum. These trains are special trains that travel from world to world, taking traveling people to far off lands where magic and mystery lies, but all is not what it seems behind the great network…
Zen’s small life is turned upside down when the mysterious Raven makes contact with him. He is sent on an impossible task. Will Zen and his new friend Nova (a intellectual android) complete Raven’s robbery? Will Zen still be able to ride on his beloved intergalactic trains once again and who is this mysterious man called Raven?

This book is spectacular with lots of twists and turns. It has amazing characters that inspire, awe and shock you. Zen Starling is an unusual main character, almost like Eoin Colfers’ Artemis Fowl, in that he can make you laugh and be your favourite character, but he has dark ways and bad habits.
Philip Reeve fans must read this book as it will become a classic read like the Mortal Engines series. It’s a must read for sci-fi fans!
You will enjoy this book if you like action or the Alex Rider series. Railhead is an action-adventure book for kids aged 9 onwards. I would rate this book 8 out of 10, as the characters all have unique personalities (even the trains!).
