Rail services suspended between Glasgow Queen Street and Cumbernauld due to 'ongoing incident'

Train services between Glasgow Queen Street and Cumbernauld have been temporarily suspended due to an 'ongoing incident'.

The incident is taking place between Stepps and Springburn stations, with emergency services currently on site.

Scotrail tweeted: "We are working closely with the emergency services due to an ongoing incident between Stepps and Springburn.

 

"At present we have had to suspend our Cumbernauld - Queen Street train services. As soon as we have more information we will let you know".

Ticket acceptance is in operation, with rail users able to use their ticket on First Glasgow buses for Glasgow, Springburn, Stepps, Gartcosh, Greenfaulds, Cumbernauld and Falkirk Grahamston.

British Transport Police have been contacted for comment.
