Rail replacement buses all weekend for some Tyne and Wear Metro services to allow for track repair

There will be no Tyne and Wear Metro trains between Pelaw and South Shields this weekend to allow for track renewal work.

Trains will be running to all other stations but may not be scheduled to the usual timetable.

A replacement bus service, number 900, will be running all day Saturday and Sunday, calling at or close to all stations from Heworth to South Shields.

A spokesman for TWM said: "Your journey will take longer so please allow extra travel time and check replacement bus and train times before starting your journey. We're sorry for any inconvenience."
