Rail replacement bus doom for Merseyrail stations in January

Engineering work is set to disrupt shoppers and party-goers heading into Liverpool city centre in January.

Work affecting Merseyrail's Northern Line services is scheduled for the weekends of January 11 and 12 and January 18 and 19.

Rail replacement buses will be in operation on at least part of the lines running between Hunts Cross and Southport and between Liverpool, Ormskirk and Kirkby .

The changes could impact on supporters heading to Goodison Park for Everton's game against Brighton.

That game is due to kick-off at 3pm on January 11.
