Rail chaos as flooding and landslide cause major disruption on Scots lines

Train passengers are facing chaos on Scotland's railway with flooding causing major disruption on several routes. Line closures and speed restrictions have been put in place, causing delays across the country.

Services between Glasgow and Inverness, Perth and Aberdeen are among those facing disruption. A landslide is also effecting the West Highland line, which the Caledonian Sleeper travels on, as well as flooding.

Heavy rainfall has closed the route between Arrochar and Glen Douglas, Arrcochar and Ardlui, and on the Oban line between Dalmally and Falls of Cruachan near where the landslide happened.

Network Rail say engineers need to inspect the route before it can reopen. Conditions are reportedly "poor".

The line will remain closed at Falls of Cruachan until at least tomorrow as specialist earthworks engineers can only assess the damage at first light.

Flooding between Gleneagles and Dunblane meant trains were unable to run earlier from Perth to Stirling and Glasgow. Services are now moving at a reduced speed of 5mph.

Meanwhile, Celtic Park has been hit with flooding with videos showing water pouring into the stadium.
