Raiders wrap up first preseason game, beat Rams 14-3

The Oakland Raiders have their first win of the 2019 season as they beat the Los Angeles Rams in the first preseason game of the year. The “first team” offense for the Raiders looked crisp as they went down the field for a touchdown on their opening drive. The defense played well, flying to the football all night long.

Below are some of our biggest takeaways and notes from Week 1 of the preseason.

Player of the Game: QB Nathan Peterman

After being praised by Jon Gruden in the last week, Nathan Peterman had himself an excellent game. Along with making some pretty throws, Peterman also had a 50-yard run that set up a touchdown to Keelan Doss. In comparison to Mike Glennon, Peterman was significantly better on Saturday night. Could there be a quarterback competition soon behind Derek Carr?

Play of the Game: Arden Key’s Sack

After just recording one sack in 2018, Arden Key appears ready for a breakout season. If the preseason is any indication, Key might be ready to become the team’s leading sacker this season. Take a look at this beautiful sack by Key in the second quarter.
