Raiders WR Tyrell Williams named ‘breakout star’ of OTAs

All eyes have been on newly-acquired receiver Antonio Brown during the Raiders’ OTA sessions. However, it’s actually been another receiver that has stolen the show during the team’s practices.

In a recent article by Bleacher Report, free agent signee Tyrell Williams was named the team’s “breakout star” during OTAs. Quarterback Derek Carr has been impressed as well, calling Williams a “technician” on top of having elite athleticism.

Williams has been doing everything at Raiders OTAs, including running the full route tree, getting touches on jet-sweeps and more. He has been a much better and more complete player than Oakland initially thought.

Throughout his career, Williams has always been effective and efficient. Now that he is paired with Brown in the team’s starting lineup, it wouldn’t be a shock to see him play the best football of his career.

Considering all of the news out of OTAs has been positive about Williams, look for him to post career highs in Oakland in receptions, receiving yards and possibly touchdowns. He is a perfect fit as a No. 2 receiver opposite Antonio Brown.
