Raiders WR Tyrell Williams named a fantasy football ‘sleeper’ by Bleacher Report

With Antonio Brown currently nursing a foot injury, it’s newly-acquired receiver Tyrell Williams who is taking the No. 1 receiver snaps in Oakland. Even when Brown returns, Williams is likely to continue to put up big numbers in Oakland.

In a recent article by Maurice Moton of Bleacher Report, he named the biggest fantasy football sleepers at each position. To no one’s surprise, Williams’ name was mentioned as a value at the receiver position. Take a look at what Moton had to say about the former Chargers’ receiver:

As the No. 2 wide receiver on the Raiders depth chart, Williams deserves consideration earlier than the 12th round in fantasy leagues. If Brown experiences foot issues throughout the season, Williams could become a nifty pickup at the back end of drafts.

According to Fantasy Football Calculator, Williams is currently a 12th-round pick in 12-team, PPR drafts. He is being selected behind the likes of James Washington, Devin Funchess, and Donte Moncrief.

Given that the Raiders will likely throw the ball a bunch this season and there is really no other outside receiver (other than Antonio Brown) to challenge Williams for snaps and targets, it’s very likely that he has a career year in Oakland. It wouldn’t be a surprise if he caught 70 or more passes for the first time in his career. Grabbing Williams anytime after the 10th round should prove to be a wise investment.
