Raiders WR Hunter Renfrow dominating from the slot during training camp

It didn’t take long for Hunter Renfrow to win a starting job in the NFL. The former Clemson Tiger is already opening eyes in camp, impressing his coaching staff and the rest of the media at Napa.

After just a week of practice, Renfrow has already proved to be the best slot receiver on the roster. He is winning in the same ways he did at Clemson with excellent quickness and precise routes. According to Vic Tafur of The Athletic, the competition between him and Ryan Grant hasn’t even been close.

(Hunter) Renfrow, the rookie out of Clemson, has dusted veteran Ryan Grant out of the starting gate in the slot receiver competition.

Considering how great of an offseason Renfrow has had, it would be a shock if he wasn’t a Day 1 starter for Oakland this season. He will likely rotate slot snaps with Antonio Brown, but Renfrow is projected to have a significant role in 2019.
