Raiders WR Antonio Brown vows never to play football again unless he can wear old helmet

In the latest chapter of the soap opera that is Antonio Brown, he has vowed to never play football again if he can’t wear his old helmet, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

According to Schefter, the stance stems from the NFL blocking the use of the specific helmet Brown has worn throughout his career. Brown has since filed a grievance against the NFL with the goal of wearing his previous helmet this season.

Since the league has prohibited the use of his previous helmet, along with 10 others models, the Raiders have pushed Brown to explore using other models. But so far, none have appealed to the four-time All-Pro.

While this seems like an idle threat for Brown to hold over the league, no one can be certain that he won’t sit out. Brown has shown his stubbornness before, so this is worth monitoring. However, look for something to be resolved on this issue in the upcoming days as Brown gets ready to return to practice from his foot injury.
