Every athlete has a player or two from their childhood that inspired them to become great. Stars are what makes the NFL great, and there has been no shortage of them over the last several decades.
For Raiders wide receiver Antonio Brown, it wasn’t a receiver that inspired him. Instead, it was arguably the flashiest player in NFL history; Deion Sanders. Here is what Brown said about Sanders and why he loved to watch him in a recent article by ESPN:
“He brought a lot of passion and energy and excitement for me Iwatching the game. You know he had a lot of fun, made a lot of big plays, that got everyone excited, and he always had the swagger and the charisma to go with it.”
Like Sanders, Brown is one of the best players to ever play the game. He plays with a certain flair and confidence that is unmatched by any other receiver currently in the league today. It’s not difficult to see the parallels in Brown and Sanders’ games and personalities.
