Raiders WR Antonio Brown named bounce-back candidate by ESPN

Is it possible for Antonio Brown to be even better in his 10th season as a pro? Many are believing that despite making the Pro Bowl for a sixth-straight season, Brown is a prime candidate to have a career year in Oakland.

In a recent article by ESPN and Pro Football Focus, Brown was named a candidate to bounce back in 2019 now that he is with the Oakland Raiders. Take a look at Austin Gayle of Pro Football Focus’ thoughts on Brown’s 2018 season and why he could be much better next season:

Even though he finished with over 1,300 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns, Brown finished his 2018 campaign with a career-low 79.0 receiving grade and the second-lowest yards per route run average (1.84) of his career. He also caught just five of 27 contested targets and recorded 29 receptions of 15-plus yards — two relatively low marks compared to what we’ve seen from Brown in his career. Expected to star as the focal point of the Raiders’ passing attack in 2019, Brown should see his efficiency numbers jump back up to the level we saw from him in previous seasons.

If Brown can truly get back to the efficiency we saw in 2014 and 2015, the sky is the limit for this Raiders’ offense. Brown is a future Hall of Fame receiver who is still in his physical prime.

Assuming Oakland figures out how to use him to his fullest ability, look for Brown to be back in the conversation as the best receiver in the league after this season.
