Raiders WR Antonio Brown might not play against Broncos in Week 1

The Raiders may be without star wide receiver Antonio Brown when they host the Broncos on “Monday Night Football” in Week 1.

After Brown posted a picture of a fine for missing a practice on social media and voiced his displeasure with the organization, general manager Mike Mayock confronted the receiver and two “got into it,” according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Oakland is now expected to suspend Brown. The length of the suspension is not yet known but Brown will likely miss Monday’s season opener against Denver on ESPN.

That’s good news for the Broncos, who praised Brown on Wednesday.

“He’s really quick and really fast,” coach Vic Fangio said. “He gets to his high speed very fast — quicker than most. He’s very elusive, he’s a good runner after the catch and he’s a very competitive guy. There’s nothing easy about defending him.”

Now Denver won’t have to defend him.

With Brown suspended, Oakland’s top WRs will be Tyrell Williams, Hunter Renfrow, J.J. Nelson, Dwayne Harris and Ryan Grant. The Raiders also have two WRs on the practice squad: Marcell Ateman and Rico Gafford.
