Raiders trade down in latest Draft Wire Mock Draft

Another mock draft and yet again, we see another trade down from the Oakland Raiders. In Luke Easterling’s latest mock draft at the Draft Wire, the Raiders moved down from pick No.4 to No.7 as the Jacksonville Jaguars secured their franchise quarterback in Dwayne Haskins.

In exchange for moving down, the Raiders picked up Jacksonville’s second-round pick, pick No.38 as well as an additional third-rounder. That allowed Oakland to move back up into the first round for one of the top cornerbacks in the draft. Take a look at all seven of the Raiders’ picks in the first four rounds of this mock draft:

7. Oakland Raiders (from JAX)
Devin White | LB | LSU

24. Oakland Raiders (from CHI)
Jachai Polite | EDGE | Florida

31. Oakland Raiders (from LAR)
Deandre Baker | CB | Georgia
38. Oakland Raiders (from JAX)
David Montgomery | RB | Iowa State
66. Oakland Raiders
Jaquan Johnson | S | Miami (FL)
99. Oakland Raiders
Bobby Evans | OT | Oklahoma
Of the Raiders seven picks, five project as Day 1 starters for the Raiders. Devin White would become the team’s best linebacker, and Jachai Polite would be a perfect fit opposite of Arden Key. Kelvin Harmon is a do-it-all receiver who could contribute as a No.2 right away, and Deandre Baker would pair nicely with Gareon Conley.
Overall, this is a fantastic mock draft in which the Raiders can address multiple needs with quality players because of the trade down pick No.4. All of a sudden, trading back from pick No.4 is starting to make more sense by the day.
