Raiders to play on national TV in Week 2 of the preseason

After a solid Week 1 performance in the preseason, the whole world will get a chance to see the Raiders in primetime in Week 2. On Thursday night, the Raiders will take on the Cardinals on ESPN as two of the most exciting young teams in the NFL will square off.

In a recent article by Michael Colangelo of the Touchdown Wire, he broke down all of the upcoming nationally televised games of  Week 2, including the matchup between the Raiders and the Cardinals:

The Raiders are a nationally televised team again and the only reason that makes sense is that they will draw viewers who also watch “Hard Knocks.” There could be an interesting backup QB battle in Oakland. Mike Glennon did not play very well in his time in the first preseason game. Nathan Peterman set social media on fire with his 50-yard scamper and played well in his time under center. There was a lot of Brett Hundley for the Cardinals in the first game. We should see No. 1 pick Kyler Murray for a more extended time in this game.

Given that we didn’t see much of the first-string offense for the Raiders in Week 1, you can expect to see players such as Derek Carr, Josh Jacobs, and Trent Brown to play at least a drive or two on Thursday night. Given that Jon Gruden also worked at ESPN, expect him to throw his former a company a bone by playing his best players.
