The Raiders played their best game of the season on Sunday, defeating the Chiefs in Kansas City. Despite a first-half interception by Derek Carr, he played arguably the best game of his career, throwing for well over 300 yards on Sunday and tossing three touchdowns.
Midway through the fourth quarter, Daniel Carlson made a 43-yard field goal to put the Raiders up by 9. On the next possession, safety Jeff Heath intercepted Patrick Mahomes on fourth down to set up another Raiders’ score. That essentially ended the game as the Raiders went up by 16 points with only five minutes left in the game. Kansas City did score a touchdown to cut it an eight-point deficit. But the Raiders were able run out the clock on the next possession.
The Raiders now sit at 3-2 on the season and will go on their Week 6 bye. It was a massive win to game some momentum into their week off. Las Vegas is now just one game back of the division lead with Kansas City and hold the current tiebreaker. As mentioned before, this could not have been a bigger win for the Raiders and is arguably their greatest victory since Jon Gruden joined the team again in 2018.
