Raiders are NFL’s worst team in 1 p.m. Eastern time slot

The Oakland Raiders are in the midst of one of the toughest road schedules in the entire NFL.

After playing at home in Week 2, the team won’t return to the Coliseum until Nov. 3. Over the next four weeks, they will play three playoff teams from 2018 as well as Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers.

What makes this road trip even more difficult is Oakland’s inability to play well in 1 p.m. ET games. According to the NFL’s research department, the Raiders have the league’s worst winning percentage (.216) since 2000 when playing at 1 p.m. in the Eastern time zone.

If Oakland wants to stay competitive this season, they are going to have to find ways to win on the road when playing the early afternoon game, because they have three more of them this year, including in Week 4 against the Colts. While it’s clearly a disadvantage for most teams, the Raiders have historically struggled when playing the early game.
