Raiders steal 19 pregnant sheep worth £3000 from Scots farm as cops launch probe

Police have launched a probe after 19 pregnant sheep were stolen from a Highland farm.

The English Mules - which are valued at £3000 - were pinched from the Berryleas site, near to Fordyce in Banff, between Saturday, December 5 and Friday, January 22.

Cops insist the theft of such a large number of sheep would have required planning and the use of vehicles to transport the animals away from the area.

PC Cook of the North East Police Division enquiry office said: "I would urge people to be extra vigilant and take measures and precautions to protect your property.

"We take every opportunity to share knowledge and information with officers across the force area to minimise and prevent the number of crimes that take place."

If you saw anyone or anything suspicious around the times in question police urge you to get in touch.

Anyone with information can contact Police on 101 quoting incident number CF0019140121.
