Raiders sign LB Brandon Marshall to one-year deal worth up to $4.1 million

The Raiders have added another linebacker to their depth chart. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the team signed former Denver Broncos’ linebacker Brandon Marshall to a one-year deal worth up to $4.1 million.

Marshall started 63 games over the last six seasons with the Broncos, totaling 423 tackles, 28 tackles for a loss and 21 pass deflections. Marshall graded out as Pro Football Focus’ 48th-ranked linebacker in 2018, excelling in coverage.

His best position is as a weakside linebacker who does his best work in coverage. Marshall and Vontaze Burfict will likely compete for a starting job this season. For the price, this a homerun signing by the Raiders as they continue to add quality depth to their defense.
