Raiders sign former AAF WR Jalin Marshall

The Oakland Raiders have completely rebuilt their wide receiver corps in just one offseason. Gone are Amari Cooper, Jordy Nelson, Seth Roberts, and Martavis Bryant. They have been replaced with the likes of Antonio Brown, Tyrell Williams, and Ryan  Grant.

On Tuesday, the Raiders added another name into the mix; former New York Jets and Orlando Apollos receiver Jalen Marshall.

Marshall was undrafted in 2016 and signed with the Jets as a free agent. During his rookie season, he caught 14 passes for 162 yards and two touchdowns, while contributing in the kick return game, as well.

Marshall is a fantastic athlete who lacks the top-end speed to be a starting-caliber receiver in the NFL. However, he could be an option to compete with Dwayne Harris as the team’s starting kick returner. More than likely, he’s another talented camp-body who will have to compete with several other players for a roster spot.
