Raiders are adding more depth to the defensive back position by signing a veteran corner by the name of Nevin Lawson. This was first reported by the Dianna Russini of ESPN.
Lawson is a solid player who has had 54 starts for the Lions the past 4 seasons. Lawson is a good fit for the Raiders and Guenther system with his ability to read and react in the zone and tackles well in open space.
His up and down coverage skills are worrisome giving up a 103 rating during his 6 seasons in the NFL. Lawson has never recorded and interception but has giving up 14 touchdowns. With that said Lawson does add depth at the corner back position and they say you can never have enough corners.
