Despite the numerous additions to the wide receiver corps, it wouldn’t be a total surprise if the Raiders were still interested in adding talent to the position.
In Eric Edholm’s latest mock draft at Yahoo.com, he gave the Raiders the dynamic receiver from Oklahoma; Marquise “Hollywood” Brown. Take a look at his explanation of the selection:
Wouldn’t this be something? Brown is cousins with Antonio Brown and would give the Raiders an exciting trio of playmakers in the passing game. They could allow his broken foot to heal properly and then use him as an all-over-the-field mismatch piece. The Raiders have brought in a bunch of receivers for pre-draft visits even after trading for Antonio Brown and signing Tyrell Williams, so this wouldn’t be a shock.
Brown could instantly play in the slot for the Raiders, giving them even more speed in the passing game. His health will certainly be a factor, but he is expected to be ready for training camp, at the very latest.
Giving Derek Carr even more weapons to work with during the 2019 season isn’t the worst strategy to deploy. Brown would help Carr push the ball down the field, which was a weakness for him during 2018.
