Raiders select Colorado WR Laviska Shenault in latest 2020 mock draft

While the 2019 season is just about ready to start, it’s never too soon to look ahead to the 2020 draft, especially with college football already underway. For the Raiders, the 2020 draft will be important as the team has two first-round picks and they are hosting the event in Las Vegas.

But where might the Raiders go with their pick in the 2020 draft? In a recent mock draft by Draft Wire’s Luke Easterling, the Raiders selected wide receiver Laviska Shenault from Colorado. Take a look at Easterling’s thoughts on the selection at No. 16:

The Raiders have bigger needs on both sides of the ball, but with multiple first-round picks, they can afford to prioritize pure value and talent with this pick. If a complete pass-catcher like Shenault is still on the board here, the Raiders would be wise not to pass him up.

As a sophomore, Shenault tallied over 1,100 yards from scrimmage and 11 touchdowns in just nine games. At 6’2, 220 pounds, he reminds many of Julio Jones in college. With Antonio Brown’s future with the team uncertain, Shenault could be the team’s No. 1 receiver for years to come. In a loaded wide receiver class, Shenault may be the cream of the crop and someone to keep an eye on this season.
