In the last two months, the two most commonly mocked players to the Raiders at pick No.4 have been Alabama defensive tackle Quinnen Williams and Kentucky’s Josh Allen. After those two, Michigan’s Rashan Gary is often the next most familiar name to appear. However, that doesn’t mean we don’t see a change-up every now and then.
One name that we haven’t seen mocked to the Raiders very often is cornerback Greedy Williams from LSU. In Mike Tanier’s most recent mock draft at Bleacher Report, he gave the Raiders the top cornerback in the draft at pick No.4.
Williams has everything you would want in a top cornerback prospect. He’s long, athletic and he has ball skills. He needs to become more consistent, but he has all of the talent to become one of the top defensive backs in the NFL. According to Pro Football Focus, quarterbacks had a passer rating of just 43.0 when targeting Williams in coverage.
While the fourth-overall pick does seem a tad rich for Williams, a combination of him and Gareon Conley would give offensive coordinators nightmares. If the Raiders decide to execute a trade down to acquire more assets, Williams should be in the short list of names for the Raiders to consider.
