Raiders release veteran FB Keith Smith, give job to UDFA Alec Ingold

As the Raiders continue to cut down their roster from 90 to 53 players, one of the most intriguing roster battles has been decided.

According to Vic Tafur of The Athletic, the Raiders have released veteran fullback Keith Smith in favor of undrafted free agent Alec Ingold.

Smith was signed before the 2018 season to help on both offense and on special teams. However, after dealing with a knee injury, it took a while for Smith to return to practice and it allowed Ingold to shine. Ingold is a younger player who gives the team a better receiver.

Look for the former Wisconsin Badger to start in Week 1 against the Broncos.
