Raiders release RB Mark Thompson, opening up fifth roster spot for undrafted free agents

There are now five open roster spots on the Raiders. The team has released running back Mark Thompson who they had signed to a reserve/future contract back in early January. Thompson had spent last offseason with the Lions and a short stint on the Ravens’ practice squad.

The release puts the Raiders roster at 85 players following their 7 drafted rookies, which means we will see at least five undrafted rookies signed.

At the conclusion of the draft, the Raiders had four open roster spots and there were four additions reported within minutes of the last player drafted.

A fifth reported addition was Utah State kick Dominik Eberle, according to the program’s official Twitter account.

If there are any more than those five reported additions, they will come with further corresponding player releases.
