Raiders release ‘Hard Knocks’ star Luke Willson

The Oakland Raiders continue to cut down their roster from 90 players before Saturday’s deadline. Their most recent move was the release of veteran tight end Luke Willson, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo. Willson has been one of the prominent storylines this summer for the HBO docuseries “Hard Knocks.”

Willson signed with the team this offseason after Oakland lost Jared Cook in free agency. But with Darren Waller’s development and the selection of tight end Foster Moreau in the draft, there just wasn’t a spot on the roster for the former Seahawks tight end.

However, look for Willson to get looks from other teams, such as the Pittsburgh Steelers and New England Patriots, before Week 1.
