Raiders release first depth chart of 2019 season

The Oakland Raiders have officially released their first depth chart of the season as they inch closer to the first preseason game on Saturday. Here is a look at both their offensive and defensive depth charts via the Oakland Raiders team site:

One of the most surprising notes from the team’s first official depth chart is that Maurice Hurst is not listed with the starters. Instead, veterans Johnathan Hankins and Justin Ellis appear to be working ahead of him. Given that Hurst was so productive last season, it is interesting to see that he is not listed as a starter.

Another noteworthy development is that fifth-round pick Hunter Renfrow has appeared to win the slot receiver job over the likes of Ryan Grant, Keon Hatcher, etc. Head coach Jon Gruden has raved about their new slot receiver, calling him a “great pick.” It shouldn’t be a surprise that he is already ascending up the depth chart.

As always, these depth charts are unofficial and can be fluid. Don’t expect this same starting lineup to be in place in Week 1 when the Raiders take on the Broncos. However, this does give us a clue as to who is performing well in camp and who might need to step up their games over the next month.
