Saturday afternoon the Raiders announced they are releasing Donald Penn after five seasons with team.
This move was inevitable with the signing of Trent Brown to the record setting contract on the first day of legal tampering. This means Kolton Miller and Brown will be the tackles going into 2019 with Brandon Parker as the swing tackle in case of injury.
Penn’s time with the Raiders was essential to the improvement of the franchise. The 2016 offensive line unit is still one of the best of the decade allowing Carr to only be pressured 24 percent of the time according to Pro Football Focus. Penn says he still wants to play in 2019 and left a heartfelt message for Raider Nation
