Raiders receiving weapons rank at No. 8 entering 2023 NFL season

Arguably the greatest strength for the Raiders entering this upcoming season is their passing-game weapons. They have a bonafide All-Pro receiver in Davante Adams and several other high-quality options in the passing game.

But where does that unit rank among the rest of the NFL? In a recent article by Trevor Sikkema of Pro Football Focus, he ranked all 32 receiving corps entering the 2023 season.

The Raiders came in at No. 8, which feels about right considering just how productive Davante Adams has been over the last few seasons. Here is what Sikkema had to say about the unit entering the year:

Davante Adams has the highest receiving grade in the league over the last three seasons at 94.2, and he is the primary reason why the Raiders slot in here at No. 8.

Darren Waller‘s recent departure brings the unit’s ceiling down, but Hunter Renfrow is still a very good slot player, and Josh Jacobs has good receiving ability out of the backfield. Throw in tight ends Austin Hooper and Michael Mayer and the signing of Jakobi Meyers, and it’s a very solid group.

It’s hard to argue with Sikkema’s rankings as the Raiders do have a lot of talent at wide receiver. While Meyers and Renforw aren’t flashy players, both move the chains consistently and are two of the most reliable receivers in the league.

The question for the Raiders entering the season is who else will step up? Last year, Mack Hollins had a big role as the No. 2 receiver, but he has since signed with the Falcons. Can Tre Tucker or Phillip Dorsett fill in the gaps this year? Or will the Raiders rely more on their tight ends?

All that is up for debate. But what isn’t is that the Raiders are loaded with offensive weapons, especially at wide receiver.
