Raiders RB Josh Jacobs named Offensive Rookie of the Month

With every passing week, the selection of Josh Jacobs in the first round continues to look better and better for the Oakland Raiders. On Thursday, the NFL announced that Jacobs was named the Offensive Rookie of the Month for October as he totaled 358 yards and two touchdowns in just three games.

In seven games, Jacobs has totaled 722 yards and four touchdowns, averaging five yards per carry on the ground. Jacobs has dealt with a shoulder issue, but it hasn’t impacted his play as he continues to be one of the most physical runners in the entire NFL.

Jacobs has to be considered one of the front runners to win the Offensive Rookie of the Year award, with quarterbacks Kyler Murray and Gardner Minshew certainly receiving some consideration. Jacobs is already among the league’s best running backs and should be a shoo-in for the Pro Bowl in his first season.
