Everywhere you look on social media or on TV you will hear how this is a make or break year for Derek Carr. The pressure is on, and he started day one of training camp off with a bang.
Carr began his strong connection with Tyrell Williams working 7 on 7 and full team drills. He and Williams connected on multiple passes with Carr dropping bombs deep down the field. Carr built rapport with other receivers as well for big plays such as Darren Waller and speedster Rico Gafford. He spoke about his deep connections on the first day of camp with the media after practice.
Carr also talked about being more aggressive this year and how players like Williams and Brown give him that opportunity.
Adding Brown and his ability to adjust routes on the fly will force Carr to scramble and make plays more often. He displayed this during practice rolling out and making plays during team sessions.
It’s a big year for Carr and his future with the Raiders team, and he came prepared and is off to a quick start.
