Raiders QB Derek Carr’s supporting cast ranked No. 16 by Bleacher Report

By the end of the 2018 season, the Raiders had arguably the worst receiving corps in the league. Oakland was signing players off of the street and instantly inserting them into the starting lineup.

Entering the offseason, it was clear that Mike Mayock and Jon Gruden wanted to give more weapons to Derek Carr entering 2019. The team traded for Antonio Brown, signed veterans Tyrell Williams, Ryan Grant and J.J. Nelson and selected running back Josh Jacobs in the first round.

But despite all of the changes, how good is their roster surrounding Carr? In a recent article by Brad Gagnon of Bleacher Report, he ranked the supporting casts of each team in the NFL, and the Oakland Raiders finished in the middle of the pack at No. 16.

That ranking seems quite low considering the Raiders added arguably the best wide receiver in the league, a fantastic No. 2 receiver and the best running back in the 2019 NFL draft.

While it’s true the team lacks a proven player at tight end, the overwhelming amount of talent at receiver more than makes up for their weakness at tight end. Look for Oakland to be a significantly better offense in 2019 due to their upgrades at receiver.
