Raiders QB Derek Carr's finger is great, 'thank you for asking'

ALAMEDA, Calif. _ The dislocated right pinky finger of Derek Carr won't limit him or keep him from taking snaps from under center this week, the Raiders quarterback said Wednesday.

"It's great," Carr said during his weekly meeting with the media. "Thank you for asking."

Asked if it might affect his grip on the football, Carr replied, "It's doing great, thank you. How's yours?"

As for any limitations on his ability to take snaps from center, which he was unable to do when he returned to the game Sunday following his injury, Carr responded, "No limitations. It's doing great. Thank you."

Carr stuck to the script again when asked if he needed any painkillers.

"It's doing great. Thank you very much," he said.

Carr strategically kept his hands inside the pouch of his hooded sweatshirt throughout his time at the podium.

Carr wore a glove on his hand Sunday following the injury to improve his throwing grip. He was not wearing one when he exited the field following the Raiders' morning walk-through, although he did appear to be carrying one in his hand. Carr remained vague when asked if he would again wear a glove for Sunday's game.

"We'll see," Carr said. "My hand's doing great. Thanks for asking."
