If the Oakland Raiders want to move from Derek Carr, they have until 4 p.m on Wednesday to do so. At that time, Carr’s base salary of $19.9 million will become fully guaranteed, according to ESPN’s Field Yates. Carr also will receive a $100,000 workout bonus, bringing his guaranteed money for the 2019 season up to $20 million.
While the Raiders are expected to keep Carr for the 2019 season, this is an important date, nonetheless. The Raiders could still trade Carr after Wednesday, but his salary would be much tougher to move. However, expect Carr to return to the Raiders in 2019 and to be the starting quarterback on opening day.
