Raiders QB Derek Carr ranked as 3rd-best deep ball passer since 2016

One of the most underrated parts of Derek Carr’s game is his ability to connect on deep passes. While he may not always be aggressive enough challenging defenses down the field, he is highly accurate when he does so.

According to Pro Football Focus, Carr has been the league’s third-most accurate passer since 2016 on passes beyond 20-yards. Per PFF, Carr ranks just below Russell Wilson and Drew Brees, completing 30.8 percent of his attempts.

With added weapons on offense, Carr should be even more effective on deep ball passes this season. Antonio Brown and Tyrell Williams are two of the best deep targets in the league, and that should allow Carr to continue his efficiency.
