Raiders QB Derek Carr named Week 2 ‘fantasy sleeper’ by Bleacher Report

One of the most surprising performances of Week 1 was Derek Carr carving up the Denver Broncos’ defense despite missing both of his starting guards and Antonio Brown leaving the team just days before the game.

Heading into Week 2, things appear to be a lot more stable surrounding Carr and the Oakland Raiders. For that reason, people are starting to buy into Carr being a fantasy football sleeper this week. In a recent article by Matt Camp of Bleacher Report, Carr was named a “sleeper” quarterback this week. Take a look at his thoughts on the Raiders’ passer entering Week 2.

(Derek) Carr missed just four of his 26 attempts on his way to 259 yards and an eight-yard touchdown to Tyrell Williams, who finished with six receptions for 105 yards and the score. Carr also kept Waller’s momentum from a strong preseason going, as he had seven receptions for 70 yards. It wasn’t a huge fantasy game, but it was a confidence-builder for Carr and this passing offense.

When the Raiders last hosted the Chiefs in Week 13 of the 2018 season, Carr had one of his best games of the year with 285 yards and three touchdowns on 29-of-38 passing. I’m not asking you to knock if you’re with me, but at least think about using Carr in some format this weekend.

Considering the matchup this week against Kansas City, Carr is a must-start this week, especially in DFS. Look for Carr to exceed 300 yards passing in what will likely turn into a shoot-out in Oakland.
