Raiders QB Derek Carr named top passer of Week 9 by Pro Football Focus

It seems like every week, Derek Carr is becoming more comfortable in the Raiders’ offense under Jon Gruden. On the season, he is completing more than 71 percent of his passes, as he has a passer rating of 105.2. He’s playing the best football in his career.

Carr had arguably his best game of the season in Week 9, throwing for 289 yards and two touchdowns as the Raiders beat the Lions. According to Pro Football Focus, no quarterback in the NFL had a better day as he was named the top passer of the week. Take a look at Pro Football Focus’ thoughts on Carr in Week 9:

Carr was electric against the Lions on Sunday, as he picked up two big-time throws and zero turnover-worthy plays en route to an 86.8 passing grade in Week 9. He also recorded an 81.5% adjusted completion percentage on Sunday, which ranked tied for sixth among qualifying quarterbacks this week.

If Carr can continue to play at this level, the team has a great chance to make a run in the second half of the season towards the playoffs. He’s playing at the best level of his career despite subpar receivers. Carr should be a lock to make the Pro Bowl in 2019.
