Raiders pass on DE Josh Allen in latest NFL.com mock draft

In most of the mock drafts we have examined, the Raiders are usually left with one of Josh Allen (Kentucky) or Quinnen Williams (Alabama). Those are two of the top players in this class, so it makes sense that at least one usually is selected before the Raiders are on the clock.

However, it’s not entirely impossible that both make it to No. 4. In Daniel Jeremiah’s latest mock draft at NFL.com, both Allen and Williams are available to Oakland as defensive tackle Ed Oliver went to the Jets at No. 3.

In his mock, he gave the Raiders Williams as Jeremiah called Williams the “best player available.” By most accounts, that is true. Williams was dominant at Alabama last season, recording 19.5 tackles for a loss and eight sacks. He is one of the best defensive tackle prospects to enter the NFL Draft in several years.

But is Allen the better fit in Oakland? The Raiders spent two draft picks on defensive tackles last season (P.J. Hall and Maurice Hurst) and re-signed Jonathan Hankins this spring. They have more than enough depth at the position but need a lot of help on the edge.

If Allen and Williams are both available at No. 4, who would you pick? Feel free to leave your comment below.
