Raiders OL Dylan Parham working at center during team’s OTAs

The Raiders didn’t do much to address their offensive line need this offseason, but they did spend their first pick (albeit at pick No. 90) on Dylan Parham.

But from the moment he was drafted, there was some debate about where he should play with the Raiders. And by the sounds of it, the Raiders are still trying to find that out, too.

In a recent article by Tashan Reed of The Athletic, he wrote that Parham was taking snaps at both guard and center. Here is what he had to say about the rookie offensive lineman from Memphis:

“Speaking of young guys, Parham is listed as a guard on the roster, but he’s still been cross-training at center. It’s too early to make sweeping evaluations, but he’s impressed the Raiders’ best offensive lineman.”

The expectation going into OTAs was that Parham would likely start at guard as they already have a center in Andre James. However, James was very up-and-down in his first year as a starter and the new coaching staff for the Raiders might want more size at the center position.

There is no way to know for sure what the Raiders are thinking here, especially after just one OTA practice. However, it’s clear that they are going to find a way to get their five best offensive linemen on the field, regardless of draft capital or contract.
