Raiders OG Gabe Jackson finished 2018 as the top guard in AFC West

The Raiders’ offensive line was a massive problem during the 2018 season as it likely cost them multiple wins. Specifically, rookie tackles Kolton Miller and Brandon Parker were the team’s biggest liabilities. Together, the two allowed a combined 26 sacks and 108 pressures. Considering how poorly they played, it’s surprising that Derek Carr was able to start in all 16 games with this offensive line.

However, the interior offensive line wasn’t an issue for the Raiders. Center Rodney Hudson had another Pro Bowl-caliber season, and Gabe Jackson finished as the division’s top guard, according to Pro Football Focus.

Jackson was a third-round pick by the Raiders in the 2014 NFL Draft and has been consistently one of the best guards in the league despite never making a Pro Bowl. Per Pro Football Focus, Jackson finished as the season as the 15th ranked guard in the NFL with an overall grade of 69.2, which was a slight improvement from his 2017 season (67.3).

While the Raiders try to figure out what to do at left and right tackle, they should take comfort in knowing that their interior offensive line is settled. The trio of Gabe Jackson, Rodney Hudson and Kelechi Oseleme is one of the best interior offensive lines in the NFL.
