Raiders met with Ohio State DE Nick Bosa on Thursday

When it comes to the NFL Draft, each team has to be prepared for the unexpected. The Oakland Raiders have been doing just that over the last few weeks.

The team recently met with Kyler Murray and Dwayne Haskins, despite Oakland having no real interest in adding a quarterback this offseason. On Thursday, the Raiders met with Ohio State defensive end Nick Bosa, who is expected to be the No. 2 overall pick to the San Franciso 49ers.

Ideally, Bosa would be the Raiders’ top-choice at No. 4 as he is the best pure pass-rusher in this class and would fill the Raiders’ biggest need. However, he is unlikely to make it past the 49ers at No. 2 or the Jets at No. 3.

What his visit does show is that first-year general manager Mike Mayock is willing to do his due diligence on all of the top prospects. They never want to be surprised by anything or anyone who may fall to them.

While it’s highly unlikely the Raiders will have the chance to draft Bosa, weirder things have happened during the NFL Draft.
