Raiders LT Kolton Miller added weight is proving to be beneficial

Kolton Miller is a hot topic in Raider Nation representing Jon Gruden first draft pick during his second tenure. They passed on players like Derwin James to take him at fifteen and his first season didn’t give fans much confidence in his abilities.

The coaching staff wanted Miller to get stronger over the off-season after displaying marginal play strength in 2018. Miller listened and came into camp at 330 pounds, which is almost 30 pounds over his playing weight the year before.

Miller has been displaying a gain in strength and power early in training camp. During his first day in pads, he gave fourth overall pick Clelin Ferrell all he could handle during one on one sessions. He also dominated during scrimmage sessions.

Clelin Ferrell talked about battling with Miller during his press conference Tuesday explaining how this will only make both of them better players

This new news out of training camp should excite fans who are hoping for a bounce-back year for Miller, who was one of the lowest graded offensive tackles on Pro Football Focus. If Miller can continue to grow as a player, the sky is the limit for this offense.
